The highlight of the festival was the buying and selling of camels. The highly-bred camels were bought and sold at the event in high numbers. Some other events, including camel and horse dances, kabaddi, and other local games, were part of the festival. The event has been organised in the region for the last 50 years. Each year, locals take part in the festivities with great enthusiasm.
Thousands from different areas attend and adorn their camels with colorful accessories. The camel fair is so famous that locals wait for it all year long as it is an opportunity to sell their animals.

A local named Malik Inayatullah Nadeem said that as the camel fair continues for three days, people get a chance to enjoy free entertainment at their doorstep. “People are very enthusiastic about the camels and travel from remote areas to see them,” he added.
In addition to the enjoyment, mainly due to the display of unique camels, the suburb dwellers of Bhakkar district also raise a local variant of the animals. The natives also look forward to this annual festival as it is an opportunity to sell their camels at great prices to make enough profit for the entire year.
Camel enthusiasts from Sindh, Cholistan and Rohi areas add to the glory of the festival. The event may only span over three days, but locals discuss the theme for days and continue the colorful celebrations for days after. They also take the time to plan for the coming year.
