LAHORE:
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar directed foolproof security on Wednesday for T20 matches being played between the Pakistan and Sri Lanka cricket teams. “All departments concerned should perform their duties in a coordinated manner.” He stated this while presiding over a meeting in his office to review security arrangements. The CM ordered high quality arrangements on the occasion. He said that shuttle buses will provide pick and drop facility and both the teams will be provided box security. “All-out arrangements will be made for peaceful holding of matches,” he added. He also directed to make the best arrangements inside and outside of the stadium, and assured that the provincial government will extend cooperation to the Pakistan Cricket Board. He directed the cabinet committee on law and order to regularly review security arrangements during the matches. “Holding matches in a peaceful atmosphere is a matter of national dignity and no compromise will be made on it.” He directed to follow traffic plan in letter and spirit and said that citizens should not face any difficulty in this regard. “Traffic will be temporarily stopped during the movement of teams so that citizens might not face any difficulty later.”
