ISLAMABAD:
The doctors, medical and non-medical staff of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Monday observed a two-hour token strike at hospital against PIMS Reforms Act 2019 and Medical Teaching Institution (MTI) Act.

The protestors gathered outside the administration block of PIMS, chanting slogans in favour of their demands.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Asfandyar said that their strike will continue till their demands are accepted. He said that the government had pledged to consider their demands but had no intention of implementing them.

He urged the government to immediately fulfil its promises made with the hospital staff and reverse the decision of PIMS Reforms Act 2019 and Medical Teaching Institution (MTI) Act.

Meanwhile, the Pims doctors and paramedical staff as a protest closed the services at OPD and other departments.
