Six killed in Hangu ambush

At least six people were killed and four others seriously injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire on a passenger van in the Zargari area of the Hangu district on Saturday, local police told The Express Tribune over the telephone. The deceased belonged to the same family. Police said it could be a case of tribal grudge or vendetta. The assailants ambushed the victims around mid-day when they were heading to Hangu in a van. In the Zargari area, the gunmen intercepted the vehicle and opened indiscriminate fire with automatic weapons killing six people on the spot and injuring four others, the local police added. All the six people killed in the van were of the same family while the injured were also relative of the deceased, who were travelling to attend a ceremony. Local police have termed it a personal dispute. The locals shifted the deceased and injured to the district headquarter hospital for treatment and autopsy and legal report.
