LAHORE:
Over 100,000 Sikh yatrees are expected to visit Pakistan on the occasion of the 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Devji, said Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar. He stated this while speaking to a delegation led by Punjab Minister for Minorities Affairs and Human Rights Ejaz Alam and Minority MPA Sardar Mahindar Pal Singh. The governor announced that Islamabad has formally decided to issue 45-day multiple-entry visit visas for Sikh pilgrims who have foreign passports other than Indian nationality. He highlighted that as per the promise made in the first International Sikh Convention in Governor House, Lahore, issuance of multiple-entry visit visas for the pilgrims will start soon. “This is a historical step and gift for Sikh pilgrims around the world from the incumbent government.” Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate the Kartarpur Corridor in the second week of November, under any circumstances he added. “It’s time for the world to come forward to force India to end oppression in Kashmir.” Until the Kashmir conflict is not resolved peacefully, it is the responsibility of the international community to help the Kashmiri people in getting rid of Indian atrocities, he concluded.
