QUETTA: Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs Mir Zia Langove has urged the United Nations (UN) and the international community to play their role in addressing the Kashmir issue and take notice of Indian atrocities in the occupied valley.

“Indian government is brazenly committing United Nations Security Council’s resolution and human rights violations in the occupied Kashmir,” the minister said during a meeting with the United States (US) on Tuesday. He is on a visit to the US.

‘Diplomatic triumph’ as OIC urges India to restore Kashmir’s special status

“After revoking IOK’s special status as granted in the Indian Constitution, the Indian army has besieged the whole valley and imposed a curfew from last 55 days, which has caused a shortage of medicines and food,” said Langove.

He also said Pakistan would continue highlighting the Kashmir issue at every international forum in order to expose Indian brutalities against Kashmiri people. The minister vowed to continue moral, political and diplomatic support for Kashmiris.

“The UN and the world community should play their part for granting Kashmiri people the right to self-determination because they have the right to take their own decisions,” said Langove.

No mark of freedom in occupied Kashmir, says Congress leader

The minister also urged the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to extend their support for millions of Kashmiri Muslims. Most of the Islamic countries have corroborated Pakistan’s stance over Kashmir but now the whole Ummah should stand shoulder to shoulder with Kashmiris, he said. “PM Imran Khan has met many international leaders and succeeded in garnering their support over the fragile situation in Kashmir,” said the minister.
