Crime: Woman shot dead, husband injured

TAXILA: A woman was killed and her husband was critically injured after unknown assailants shot them in Taxila on Friday night. Police sources said that Wajid Shah and his wife Imtiaz Begum were sleeping in the patio of their house in Brahma village, on the outskirt of Wah Cantonment, when unknown assailants started firing at them. The assailants entered their house by climbing the boundary wall and opened indiscriminate fire at them. The couple received multiple injuries. They were taken to Tehsil Headquarter Hospital, but Imtiaz Begum succumbed to her injuries on the way to the hospital, while Wajid Shah was stated to be in critical condition. Wah police handed over the body to her relatives and registered a case.
