ISLAMABAD:

The Municipal Corporation of Islamabad (MCI) has established eight Ramazan Facilitation Bazaars across the federal capital to facilitate the people.

The MCI has converted weekly markets at various locations into daily Ramazan Facilitation Bazaars to reduce travel distances for residents and provide relief amid rising prices. The eight designated locations include G-6, H-9, G-10/G-11, Bhara Kahu (Mandi), Tramri, Tarnol Phatak and Pakistan Town.

The primary objective of these bazaars is to offer citizens a calm and uninterrupted shopping experience during the month of fasting, enabling them to purchase essential commodities and food items at controlled prices in an organised environment.

All bazaars will operate on a cashless basis, allowing customers to make payments by scanning QR codes to ensure transparency and security.

MCI Chief Officer Dr Anum Fatima has directed that essential repair and renovation work be expedited at key sites, particularly the Bhara Kahu and G-10 Ramadan bazaars.

Necessary concrete and infrastructure works have been accelerated to ensure that the premises are fully functional and safe for the public, she added.

Fatima added that the MCI would ensure price control and quality standards at all Ramadan Facilitation Bazaars to provide maximum relief to citizens.

Islamabad Traffic Police and the federal police have drawn up separate comprehensive security plans, under which a total of 3,000 police officers and personnel will be deployed on security duties throughout the holy month.

The federal police have devised a separate security strategy for mosques and imambargahs, deploying over 2,000 officers and personnel, while more than 500 security staff will conduct patrols throughout the month.

Separately, a meeting chaired by the Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad, Captain (Retd) Hamza Humayun, was held at the Traffic Headquarters in Faizabad, where it was decided that more than 450 traffic officers and personnel would be deployed during Ramazan.
