World leaders have gathered in New York this week to take part in the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Teenage activist Thunberg already angrily denounced world leaders on Monday for failing to tackle climate change, unleashing the outrage felt by millions of her peers in the heart of the UN by demanding: “How dare you?”
Her address electrified the beginning of the summit.
'You have stolen my dreams': Teenager Thunberg angrily tells UN climate
“This is all wrong. I shouldn’t be up here. I should be back in school on the other side of the ocean yet you all come to us young people for hope. How dare you?” said Thunberg, 16, her voice quavering with emotion.
“You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words,” she said.
Inspired by Thunberg’s solitary weekly protest outside the Swedish parliament a year ago, millions of young people poured onto the streets worldwide on September 20 to demand governments attending the summit to take emergency action.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has warned leaders only to turn up if they came armed with concrete action plans, not empty speeches.

Trump, although, made an appearance at the summit but did not speak.
Twitter reacts to the look Thunberg gave Trump, enjoying every bit of it.

The US president, on the other hand, thinks Thunberg is a happy young girl with a bright and wonderful future.
She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see! https://t.co/1tQG6QcVKO
