Education City to house varsities of international repute: CS Sindh
Sindh government has estimated the development cost at Rs13 billion

Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah has said that the government wants the Education City to house campuses of varsities that enjoy a good reputation both locally and abroad.
According to Shah, the Education City is spread over 9,000 acres and the Sindh government has estimated the development cost at Rs13 billion. Sufficient funds have been allocated in the current fiscal year's budget to initiate the development work.
The chief secretary disclosed these plans while presiding over the first meeting of the Education City's Executive Management Council (EMC) at the Sindh Secretariat on Monday.
The meeting reviewed the measures being taken to initiate the uplift work. Investment Secretary Ahsan Ali Mangi informed the meeting that eminent institutions, which had so far applied for setting up their campuses in the project, included the NED University, Aga Khan University Hospital, IBA Karachi, Sindh Institute of Urology & Transplantation (SIUT), SZABIST and others. Some of these varsities have already been allotted lands.
