Charismatic and charming are two words which describe Catherine, the new Duchess of Cambridge, to the tee. The royal couple Prince William and Catherine (Kate), the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, managed to endear themselves to Canadian crowds with a skilful mix of royal pomp and playful pageantry on their first official nine-day royal trip abroad since their wedding, and have now proceeded to Los Angeles in the US to attend the Bafta awards.

Like her late mother-in-law, Kate has her own unique sense of fashion which she showcased in Canada. The new royal was never over the top but she managed to impress with her simple and demure outfits which flattered her figure and inspired many. Adjectives which come to mind when describing Kate’s style include, ‘flawless’, ‘chique’, ‘effortless’ and ‘elegant’. One of the Duchess’ favourtie designers, Daniella Helayel, described Kate’s style as, “Classic. It’s chic and effortlessly elegant. Kate’s fashion choices are part of what makes her such an icon as a modern day princess. I think her style is so appealing because women all over the world can relate to her. She dresses for her body shape and as a result she always looks glamorous, appropriate, comfortable and confident in what she’s wearing. Her style is one that will survive and she’ll look as fabulous next season as she has for the past nine years.”
