Campaign against trucks, tankers
Strict action will be taken against dumper trucks that fail to live up to the standard
On the directions of Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Arif Nawaz Khan, a two-week special campaign has been launched to curb traffic accidents involving dumper trucks.
As per the orders issued by the IGP, Punjab Traffic Police Additional IG Muhammad Farooq Mazhar has directed the traffic in charge of all districts to maintain a record of dumper trucks and drivers in their respective districts.
He also directed them to scrutinise documents, licenses and permits, especially the fitness and physical certificates, of all dumper trucks and oil tankers registered in the province or operating with Punjab’s jurisdiction.
Strict action will be taken against dumper trucks that fail to live up to the standard. During the special campaign, monitoring teams have been directed to register cases against rash drivers and, if needed, cancel their licenses and permits.
