Social Welfare Development secretary says special education centre in Khuzdar is upgraded

Social Welfare Development Secretary Abdul Rauf Baloch has said Balochistan government is taking revolutionary steps regarding social development of the people, adding that special education centre in Khuzdar is being upgraded from primary to middle school.

“Following Chief Minister Jam Kamal and Minister Asadullah Baloch’s vision, the provincial government is making efforts for social development,” he said on Saturday while addressing a ceremony held in the National Special Education Complex in Khuzdar.

“The provincial government has decided to upgrade Special Education Centre from primary to middle school which will ensure provision of quality education to special children in Khuzdar and its adjacent towns,” Baloch affirmed.


Minister wants better data on the elderly

He further ensured that the government will promote centre’s staff and their issues will be addressed on priority basis. “The centre will be turned into a major educational institute across Kalat Division. The staff should use their expertise for mainstreaming special children,” secretary added.

Special Education Centre Principal Rafique Danish Zehri said timely release of funds will help in better education of children. “Lack of facilities is a major cause of hurdles in educational activities but despite all odds we have been making utmost efforts for the brighter future of the province,” he said.

Social Welfare Development secretary assured that vacant positions in the centre will be fulfilled on the basis of complete merit. Abdul Rauf Baloch also visited classrooms and met special children.
