This was sated by Rawalpindi City Police Officer (CPO) Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Faisal Rana on Sunday while addressing a meeting regarding the tourist force in Murree.
He said that the newly-established force will undergo specialised training which will equip officers of the force with the necessary skills and tools to guide tourists and to protect them. Classes will be held to apprise members of the force about the history of Murree and the historical background of tourism in Murree.
The CPO said that Pakistan has several unique tourist destinations in the world while the Murree hill station is considered to be one of the most fascinating and alluring among them. He added that they were striving to provide maximum facilities to tourists, especially during national holidays and festivals.
“Rawalpindi police worked untiringly to facilitate the tourists on the eve of Eid ul Fitr and Eid ul Azha and not a single untoward incident occurred on the occasion,” CPO Rana said.
The new force, he said, will manage the movement of tourists in the hill station.
Rana further said that he will hold daily meetings to review the progress made in establishing the new force.
The meeting was attended by the Saddar SP Rai Mazhar Iqbal and other relevant officers
