KARACHI:
The federal government has finalised the main points of the speech that Prime Minister Imran Khan will deliver at the upcoming session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

It is being said that it will be a very important speech as it will reflect the matters related to Ummah, Afghan reconciliation process, the grave situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir and foreign policy of Pakistan.

He will deliver in his speech the message of “peace, not war”, and that the solution to important issues was through politics and dialogue.
Sources in the federal government said that the prime minister would also take the military leadership into confidence before delivering his speech at the UNGA.

Relations between the federal government and the military leadership are exemplary at the moment. The two are in harmony over issues of national security and other matters.

Through mutual consultation, they decide the national security strategy, which is why the United Nations gives high value to Pakistan’s foreign policy.

The most important point of the speech is making the international community aware that Pakistan’s foreign policy is “no do more … and relations should be based on equality”.

Relations with all important countries are expanding due to this policy of Pakistan.

The PM will apprise the UNGA of the Indian aggression in occupied Kashmir, non-cooperation by the Modi government and the prevalent ideology of RSS.

PM Imran is attending the UNGA session as an ambassador of Kashmir.

He will urge the international community to play its role in solving the Kashmir issue in accordance with the UN resolutions and stopping Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir.

The PM will try his best to compel the UNGA to pass a resolution condemning Indian brutality in IOK and issue a communique for forming a joint strategy to resolve the issue

The PM will mention Pakistan’s role in war against terrorism, losses inflicted upon the economy during the struggle and the sacrifices of the armed forces, security agencies and people during operations against terrorists.

He will mention Pakistan’s role for peace, Pakistan-India relations, Indian conspiracies being hatched against Pakistan, tensions on the borders and Modi administration’s role in it and other matters.
He will also highlight impact of the situation in Kashmir on the regional peace and international situation.

Imran will inform the UNGA that the Afghan issue could not be resolved through power as the solution lied in dialogue and would urge all parties to adopt that path.

The UNGA will also be informed that Pakistan does not want war, but reserved the right to defend itself. Apart from all this, Imran will also invite the world to invest in different sectors of Pakistan.
Meetings with US President Donald Trump and other important  world leaders are expected during this tour.

Kashmir and other issues, including trade, would be discussed in these meetings as well.

The PM will attend the UNGA session in his traditional attire - Shalwar Kamiz.

Sources said, “Pakistan has a clear policy that it will not enter into any dialogue with India until it lifts the curfew in Kashmir and withdraws the illegal change made in the status of IOK. Pakistan-India talks are possible only when Kashmir issue is included in the agenda.” They said other aspects of the speech were being finalised.
