E&T department will assess taxable properties again for a period of five years

The excise and taxation (E&T) department will assess taxable properties again for a period of five years. All property owners have been directed to submit details of their respective properties until September 30. The residential and commercial properties will be assessed on the basis of the property’s current rent. The assessment carried out by the department will be considered final on provision of wrong information. The property holders will receive property tax on re-assessed rates which are expected to be 15-30 percent more than current rates.
