Levies foils drug smuggling bid in Mach 

77 kilograms of high-quality marijuana was seized from hidden parts of the vehicle during the inspection

QUETTA: The Levies Force on Friday seized a huge cache of marijuana, hid in a suspected vehicle near Gokurt area of district Bolan, arresting one man. Addressing a news conference, Mach Assistant Commissioner Inayat Ullah Kasi said after a tip-off, Levies Force chased down a suspected vehicle and intercepted it at Gokurt check-point.  “During the inspection, 77kg of high-quality marijuana was seized from hidden parts of the vehicle while a man named Hakeem Dad, resident of Quetta, was arrested,” the assistant commissioner said. “The confiscated drugs are worth millions of rupees in the International market,” he added. The accused Hakeem Dad has been shifted for further investigation whereas FIR is also lodged against him. “In the last three weeks, Levies Force in Bolan has recovered 280kg marijuana and nabbed various smugglers in separate actions against drug paddlers,” Kasi said.
