Hashish recovered from truck
85 kilogrammes of hashish was being smuggled from the tribal district to Punjab

Excise Department sleuths on Saturday foiled a bid to smuggle 85 kilogrammes of hashish from tribal district to Punjab. The intelligence wing of Excise Department intercepted a truck carrying vegetables on Nasir Bagh Road. On checking, the excise officials recovered packets of high-quality hashish tucked away under the vegetables. The recovery was made on a tip off that an attempt would be made to smuggle contraband from tribal area to Punjab, officials said. Excise handed over the driver and his helper to police. The two smugglers were arrested and the case was registered against them under Control of Narcotics Substance Act.
