Unrecognised Institutions: Federal govt, HEC replies sought

advertisements in newspapers were published to serve notices on 40 “bogus” universities named as respondents.

LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court chief justice on Friday sought replies from the federal government and Higher Education Commission (HEC) in a petition against unauthorised schools.  Petitioner Barrister Javed Iqbal Jaffree submitted that the government had no mechanism to inspect these institutions. He sought directions to the government for action against all unrecognised institutions.  He said he had already given advertisements in newspapers to serve notices on 40 “bogus” universities named as respondents. Proceedings will resume in September after the summer vacation.
