Not only that, we can't forget celebrities such as the Jenners and Vanessa Hudgens donning South Asian styles at mega music festival Coachella and deeming it 'festive.'
It seems a UK clothing store are the next to step on the cultural appropriation bandwagon, this time with none other than the shalwar kameez. However, with quite a hilarious twist.

A model is seen sporting what looks very much like a kurta, except without the shalwar. That's right, you read this correctly. UK-based vintage store, Thrifted got their hands on a few pieces to sell for cheap and named them 'boho.' Except, it's a kurta.
Naturally, the controversial look sent Twitter into a frenzy with many quick to pick up that the clothing store is trying to drop the shalwar and make it fashion.
"Vintage boho dress? Girl you got a damn kameez with no shalwar," one user wrote. "Are these models wearing kurtas without pants? What is this mess," another chimed.
Other Twitter users just got simply mad. "V-vintage boho dress? I hate white people," a user shared.
"Seeing brands taking traditional clothing then renaming and re-branding is mind boggling. I've seen brands gentrify dashiki and salwar kameez, printed top and boho dress. Do they understand how ridiculous wearing only the kameez looks," a Twitter user vented.
Meanwhile, some desi Twitter users reclaimed their roots by sharing pictures of their 'boho dresses' aka, the traditional shalwar kameez or saree.
