Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa appointed Lieutenant General Khwar Rahman as the new AMC head.
Outgoing colonel commandant, retired Lieutenant General Zahid Hamid, was also present on the occasion along with other serving and retired officers from the Army Medical Corps.
Interacting with the commanding officers and soldiers of the Army Medical Corps, the COAS lauded the role of the unit played in saving valuable lives during the war on terror.
The COAS appreciated the services of all the doctors and paramedic staff and lauded them for providing quality healthcare to not only the Pakistan Army but also to civilians, added ISPR.
On his arrival earlier, the COAS laid a wreath at the Martyr's Monument and offered prayers.
