
According to Express, IHC also issued notices to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the law ministry and asked the three to submit their response within two weeks.
During the hearing, the lawyer pleaded before IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah that the minster had concealed his assets while submitting his nomination papers to the ECP and should be disqualified under Article 62(1)(f) of the Constitution.

The constitutional article says that a person can be disqualified as a member of the national or provincial legislatures if he is not ‘Sadiq and Ameen’ – truthful and trustworthy.
In response, Justice Minallah asked which person is ‘Sadiq and Ameen’. Such political cases should be resolved on political forums he added.
The advocate argued that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Tareen had been disqualified on the same ground to which the chief justice replied that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s(PML-N) Khawaja Asif was also disqualified by IHC, but later he was reinstated by Supreme Court.
