Two men kidnapped, raped near Taxila 

Complainant says they were held at gunpoint, stripped naked and assaulted

Cantonment police registered a case against kidnapping and assault. A complainant told the police that he was going to Taxilla with his friend. They were carrying cash worth Rs150,000. On their way, they were intercepted by unidentified armed men who took them to a remote place in their car. The complainant said they were held at gun point, stripped naked and assaulted by Hashir and accomplices who released them only after taking Rs90,000. Separately, Azhar’s new motorcycle and Tanvir’s mobile phone was robbed from jurisdiction of Waris Khan police station. A man was found mysteriously dead in his house in precincts of Naseerabad police station. The complainant Khursheed Bibi, told that her divorced daughter Hira lived with her. On the day, she had taken Hira to hospital while her husband Aurangzaib was alone at home. On her return, she saw her husband lying dead on the floor with wounds on his neck. She suspected that her daughter’s ex-husband was behind the murder. Rawat police raided a Sheesha Centreand arrested five people. Police also recovered hookahs and other smoking items from them. Water pipe tobacco smoking as a commercial activity is banned by the law. Rawalpindi police have started drive to implement anti-smoking laws.
