Four killed in separate Bannu incidents
Husband, wife duo gunned down in suspected drug hit
BANNU:
At least three people were killed and three others seriously wounded when two groups clashed over a property dispute in Bannu on Sunday.
Police said that two opposing groups had staked a claim to a piece of land in the area, claiming that the other’s claim on the property was false. This resulted in a clash between the groups during which both sides fired on each other.
As a result, at least three people were killed and three others were injured. Police said that they have registered a case against both parties and are investigating the matter. In a separate incident in Bannu, unidentified gunmen fired on a couple, leaving the husband dead and the wife seriously injured.
Police told The Express Tribune that Nasrullah and his wife Waheeda bibi were traveling to the Miryan village when two unidentified armed men opened fire at them. As a result of the attack, Nasrullah was killed while his wife was injured. The injured and the dead were rushed to a hospital, where doctors described Waheeda’s condition as stable.
The attackers, however, managed to flee, Locals claimed that this might have been a drug hit since the husband and wife duo are believed to be involved in the illicit drug trade.
