Secretary Education Mohammad Mehmood, made surprise visits to schools and issued show-cause notices to absent school heads and teachers. The notices of sacking from job were also issued under Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability (PEEDA) Act. Later while addressing a meeting in which CEO Education, DEOs, Deputy DEOs were present, the secretary announced to make educational institutions children friendly and dengue free. He instructed to particularly focus Rawalpindi in provision of quality education and said they needed to get rid of cramming system. He said competent teachers should be deployed as school heads in order to improve learning system. Mehmood told that teachers should teach students the values of honesty and concept learning which would enable them to question things. He said the students would learn what they were taught.
