Street hawkers, at a working group meeting on Friday, complained that they suffer humiliation at the hands of police and unelected market committee while their carts and goods are often seized without any prior warning. They expressed this during a meeting organised by Prime Institute, in collaboration with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, the National Youth Assembly and Ahmed Bashir and Associates held the Peshawar Working Group on the “Street Vendor Project”. PRIME Research Associate Beenish Javed gave a brief overview of the “Street Vendor Project”. Ahmed Bashir presented a draft legislative bill on urban street vendors which focuses on regulating and protecting the rights of vendors.
