Saeed Ghani demands cases against PTI leaders be shifted to Sindh
Says PPP leadership is being targeted and victimised
KARACHI:
Sindh Minister for Information, Archives and Labour Saeed Ghani has demanded the federal government and investigation agencies to shift the cases of Parvaiz Khatak, Mehmood Khan, Aleem Khan, Asad Qaiser, Pervaiz Illahi and Aleema Khan to Sindh.
He said that if the trials of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders and ministers could be shifted to Islamabad and Punjab on the grounds that PPP would influence the trials in Sindh, why could the cases against these leaders be shifted to Sindh.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Ghani said that this was the first instance in the history of Pakistan that trials of the PPP leadership have been shifted to another province. He added that according to the law, trials should be held where cases are registered.
Ghani said that the courts in Sindh should be closed if the courts don’t have confidence in the judges who were appointed by the higher judiciary.
The minister said that officials of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of Sindh should have been replaced if they were incompetent to conduct the trial of the PPP leaders. He added that his party’s leaders were being targeted and victimised in fabricated cases.
