LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed, on Wednesday, to expedite the police reforms and vowed that archaic police culture will be transformed. He said that the police should treat the complainants gently. “No extra-judicial action will be tolerated with regard to the accused confined in police stations.” The chief minister added that Punjab police will be synchronised with the need of the hour. He lamented that police authority was used for political purposes by previous governments. “On the other side, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government is taking every possible step to improve the police system and there is no room for any corruption in the police.” He reiterated that a policy of zero-tolerance has been adopted against corruption.
