Toll tax increase by 10 per cent for motorists travelling between Islamabad and Lahore

Following the increase from September 1, cars will pay Rs680, passenger buses Rs2,290 and trucks will pay Rs2,980. The 22-wheeler trailer trucks will now have to pay Rs4,213 to proceed on the motorway.

Replying to a query in this regard by The Express Tribune, NHA spokesperson Mushtaq Ahmed said that Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) and NHA were signatories of a 20-year concessional agreement inked in 2014 under which FWO could annually increase tax by 10 per cent. However, he added that NHA has not issued a notification in this regard.
