Polyclinic to get MRI, CT Scan machines
Health Ministry approves grant of Rs538,000,000 for purchasing and installing required equipment

Polyclinic will soon get the long awaited equipment like MRI and mammography machines, besides appointment of doctors and paramedics to fill the vacancies, said the new executive director of the hospital Dr Shuaib Khan.
Shuaib said he had taken numerous measures to ensure the provision of quality healthcare facilities to patients. He added that for very first time, MRI, CT Scan and mammography machines would be installed in the hospital.
The Health Ministry has approved grant of Rs538,000,000 for purchasing and installing the required equipment, he said.
Installation of machines would create 39 new posts including consultant and other technical staff while a project concept (PC) 1 had been sent to health ministry in this regard.
PC-II for expansion of Polyclinic approved
Dr Shuaib added that machines would operate during morning shift while, in case of emergency, they would become functional during evening shift as well.
He told that he had decided to promote medical officers within hospital who did not get a promotion for as long as eight years.
A Departmental Promotion Committee meeting would be summoned in October to decide about them after consultation with Special Adviser to Prime Minister on Health Affairs Dr Zafar Mirza, he said and added that more than 50 doctors would get promotion after decision.
Recruitment on seats up till basic pay scale (BPS) 15 would be made soon while hiring on BPS 16 and above would be done through Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC), Shuaib said.
