Ex-Rawat UC secretary remanded
The prosecutor sought 14-day physical remand of the suspect which was approved by the court
ISLAMABAD:
An accountability court on Thursday approved 14-day physical remand of ex-secretary of Rawat Union Council (UC) Javed Akhtar. National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi had arrested Akhtar over charges of misusing power and was presented in an accountability court. During the hearing, NAB’s prosecutor said that suspect, Akhtar, did corruption in awarding parking contract of a bus stand during 2013-15 and caused loss to the national treasury. He added that suspect did not deposit fee in government’s account collected under birth, marriage, death and other certificates in his UC. The prosecutor sought 14-day physical remand of the suspect which was approved by the court.
