Sri Lankan NGO donates 50 corneas (brief)

ISLAMABAD:
A Sri Lankan non-governmental organization (NGO) on Tuesday donated some 50 corneas to Pakistan.

The corneas were handed over during a ceremony held at the Prime Minister’s official residence.

The delegation, accompanied by the Sri Lankan High Commissioner Noordeen Shaheid and comprising Sri Lanka Sight Foundation head by Ifthikhar Aziz, met with Prime Minister Imran Khan.


The prime minister appreciated the humanitarian gesture which would enable the people of Pakistan to regain their eyesight.

He further added that the relationship between Sri Lanka and Pakistan has been nurtured over decades through continuous bilateral interactions.
