A statement issued by the MQM late Wednesday said the session has been summoned after ongoing incidents of bloodshed in the city particularly in areas of Orangi Town including Gulfam Abad, Qasba Colony, Katti Pahari along with other parts of the town.
The statement said that armed militants have been attacking residential areas in the aforementioned localities. It alleged that law enforcing agencies including the Police and Rangers had displayed their inability in abundance to curb violence.
Coordination committees’ emergency session will be convened at noon on Thursday. The session would review the escalating waves of citizens’ killing by the armed outlaws and would announce its future strategy consequent upon the results of the review.
The coordination committees have regretted the role of the law enforcement agencies and said that the militants have been killing the innocent citizens in the presence of the Police and Rangers.
The coordination committee said that due to the situation in various parts of the city, citizens have been compelled to migrate to safer areas. The militants have not only attacked the innocent citizens but have also looted their properties and assets on gunpoint.
Provincial legislators belonging to the MQM criticised the ban on pillion riding imposed on Tuesday. They said that the ban would only affect the common man and would do nothing to stop the criminal elements.
Party leaders issued an appeal that those who were fleeing the violence in Qasba and other badly affected areas of the city be facilitated and provided aid from the government.
The statement urged party follower to wait for the announcement of the future line strategy before taking any action.
