Verification process will be completed by August 16: official.
ISLAMABAD:
One hundred and forty-five thousand newly devised census blocks have been provided by the Census Organisation in order to prepare transparent and error-free Computerised Electoral Rolls 2011.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will also provide training from July 18 to the staff appointed for door-to-door verification of voters. According to an ECP official, the verification process will be completed by August 16, after which the ECP will finalise the electoral rolls with the help of data provided by the National Database and Registration Authority and the voters’ list of 2007.
The ECP is also making a transparent database and CNIC numbers will be used as unique identifiers of the existing voters’ list in order to discourage bogus votes.
