When Naimal Khawar proved less is more

Hamza Ali Abbasi and Naimal Khawar Khan have finally tied the knot in a simple, bespoke nikkah ceremony on Sunday, surrounded by family and friends.

Just last week, the Mann Mayal actor confirmed rumours that he is set to marry Khawar and host a valima reception the day after. He added in a statement that the he and Khawar are "inseperable."

The Aana starlet showed up to the ceremony exuding traditional vibes and we couldn't get enough of her look. But there was also a special element to the ensemble which made it very sentimental. Let's take a closer look of Khawar's nikkah look.

Her mother's dress

Khawar wanted to reuse her mother's bridal wear with a few adjustments. She certainly looked like a timeless bride, exuding old world charms.

Gold adjustments



Pairing the traditional element with some beautiful adjustments, designer Maheen Shah added a gold kamdaani kameez, with gota and salma work on the sleeves and neckline.


Dupatta



Didn't Khawal look like a desi princess with this elegant dupatta, which was another feature Shah added? "We added another organza dupatta with kamdaani chatta, finished with lace, lappa and taamba kiran," the designer wrote on her Instagram. "The kameez was then finished with hand-crafted tassels."

Minimal makeup



The new bride opted for simple makeup and we think it was the best part of her nikkah look. She radiated fresh and glowing skin, with flushed cheeks and almost-bare eyes. It's the very definition of a 'blushing bride' and that simple is usually always better.

Jewellery 



Khawar paired the entire look with some rosey gajras and some of her mom's jewellery. The pink really stood out against the gold for a pop of colour and pretty traditional element, while a few special and sentimental pieces created a timeless look. We wish the couple all the best!
