Jaffarabad ‘displeased’ with health facilities

Around 29 per cent of the 200 families of Jaffarabad have expressed displeasure over the expertise of doctors working in the district headquarter hospitals (DHQs), according to Citizens Report Card (CRC) survey report.
The report was shared by the representatives of the Centre for Peace and Development Initiatives (CPDI) and the Nisa Development Organisation and the District Interest Group (DIG) in a joint news conference on Sunday.
As many as 200 families were assessed during the survey. According to the survey, 33 per cent of the people said that the doctors did not give satisfactory reply to them; and 41 per cent cited lack of attention of doctors towards patients.
Moreover, 40 per cent said doctors never informed them about their illness in a proper way. Majority of the patients expressed displeasure at the cleanliness in the wards. Around 100 patients said they were not given free of cost meal facilities during their stay and medication in the hospital.
The DIG, in the light of the survey report, has put forward a set of demands before the authorities concerned. The group said so far no positive changes were seen in the district even after supporting them with suggestions for pragmatic planning of the health facilities.
