Police said that 14-year-old Abdul Rafay had been abducted from within the remits of the Wah Cantt police station in Rawalpindi. A kidnapping case had been registered against undefined kidnappers on an application submitted by the victim’s father Shahid Akhtar.
But a few hours after the case was registered, officials said that they found the boy’s body from the Hassan Abdal area of Attock through modern technological tracking.
The Attock police shifted the body to a hospital for post-mortem while the Hassan Abdal police station registered a murder case.
CPO Rana has directed the Rawalpindi and Attock police to jointly investigate the case and trace the suspects involved. Moreover, the CPO told officials to regularly brief him on the case.
Two cop attackers caught
The Rawalpindi police on Sunday claimed to have arrested two men who were allegedly accomplices of armed motorists riders who had shot and injured a police officer.
Policemen were patrolling the Shaley Valley Chowk within the remits of the Race Course police station on two motorbikes when a suspicious car with two occupants (bearing registration number LXW 3883) passed them by.
The car was stopped and two cops boarded it to check identification documents. They directed to take the car to the Race Course police station with the other two policemen on two motorbikes escorting it. On the way, the two cops riding on motorbikes came under gunfire, leaving Constable Imran Shahzad injured.
The injured cop was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The police managed to trace the house from which the car had emerged. They also identified the two men who were riding in the car as Ahteshaam and Zohaib Aslam, residents of Balakot in Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK).
Potohar SP Ali said that they are investigating the two occupants of the car as it is suspected that they have ties to the men who had allegedly opened fire at constable Shahzad.
Rawalpindi CPO Rana directed Potohar SP investigate the case as a terrorist incident.
The Rawalpindi CPO further directed that all suspects and their facilitators involved in the case must be arrested immediately, directing them to seek assistance from other law enforcement agencies if required.
Later, DIG Rana visited the injured constable, stating that such attacks will not be tolerated.
