ISLAMABAD:
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has announced that the Azadi March against the incumbent government would be taken out in October in which Islamabad would be put under lockdown.

“The interior minister is spreading chaos by his statements during TV programmes, but we want to clarify that our workers are peaceful people,” said Fazl while talking to the media after a two-day meeting of the JUI-F’s Markazi Majlis-e-Shura.

Fazl said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had mentioned revocation of the special status of Kashmir, but “our government showed criminal ignorance”.

He said, “The JUI-F and the whole nation stand with the Kashmiris.”

He warned the interior minister that the JUI-F workers were peaceful people who had already held 15 peaceful marches, adding that they had not feared the British Empire during its era and were not afraid of the interior minister who was far less powerful than the British.

He said the JUI-F supported the 20 demands of the Ittihad-e-Tanzeemaatul Madaris. “We feel that the government has bad intentions.”

He advised the organizations of the seminaries to postpone dialogue with the government.

Fazl said, “The Indian step of abrogating Kashmir’s special status has spoiled the regional atmosphere. Our government did not take notice of the BJP manifesto mentioning the removal of Kashmir’s special status.”

He vowed to highlight this criminal negligence during protests. “There are too many human rights violations going on in Kashmir along with the scarcity of food, but the human rights organisations are silent. This raises too many questions.”

The JUI-F chief said after one year of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government in power, inflation and unemployment were rampant, adding that all political parties had agreed that the elections were fake and the PM that came to power after these elections were also fake.

The opposition parties demanded new fair and transparent elections. “The one-sided appointment of the two members of the Election Commission of Pakistan is based on ill-intention,” said Fazl. “The remaining half of Kashmir is also in danger as long as this government is in power.”
