LAHORE:

An additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday directed Township station house officer to recover a child allegedly held illegally by his step-father and produce him before the court on July 8.

Petitioner Maryum Siddique, resident of Gulberg III, submitted that her 12-year-old child, Mobeen Siddique, was being held by her second husband, Muhammad Saleem, and mother-in-law, Siddiquen Atta. She said she had married Saleem on September 30, 2005, after the death of her first husband, Muhammad Siddique.

Later, she said Saleem forced her out of his house but kept her 12-year-old son. She said she later got a divorce from Saleem on June 27, 2011, by moving a dissolution of marriage petition in family judge Assad Imran’s court.

Siddique said she had approached the Township police station for recovery of her son but the SHO had refused to help her. She requested the court to direct the Township SHO to recover her son.
