SARGODHA: A two-day national conference titled ‘Future Medicine’ concluded at Sargodha Medical College (SMC) on Saturday. The conference was organised by the faculty of medical and health sciences at the University of Sargodha (UoS). Medical experts from across Pakistan shared their ideas, opinions and studies on the latest trends in the field of medical and allied health sciences. Speakers discussed technological advancements in the medical field and explored innovative methods of diagnosing diseases as well as treatment strategies through keynote lectures, presentations and panel discussions. Dr Waris Farooka from the Services Institute of Medical Sciences, Lahore expressed his views on ‘Simulation in Surgical Training’. He stated that virtual reality would make simulations as close to reality as possible. Meanwhile, Dr Mehreen Mehmood, Head of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at Rai Medical College, shared her research on the intricacies involved in diagnosing a displaced intrauterine contraceptive device.
