LAHORE: Punjab Chief Secretary Yousaf Naseem Khokar directed divisional commissioners to revise the prices of essential commodities and to ensure the enforcement of fixed rates within 24 hours.

He issued these instructions while presiding over a meeting on price control on Saturday.

The meeting reviewed measures to control an artificial price hike.

Speaking at the meeting, the chief secretary said that profiteering would not be tolerated in any case. He emphasised that it is the government’s top priority to provide relief to the common man and no compromise will be made in this regard.
