KARACHI:
The two-month long musical journey has finally come to an end. After weeks of rife competition and hard work, the final battle narrowed down to Auj and Aarish, the two finalists of Pepsi Battle of the Bands season four.

After a bevy of anticipation, the host of the show, Hina Altaf, alongside Ali Safina, announced Auj as the winner of the latest season of the reality show.

While Aarish bagged second place, Auj reigned supreme in the biggest battle. It took home the crown, along with Rs5 million, an album contract and lifetime royalties of the original songs performed during the course of the season.

Aarish, the runner-up, proved to be a more than worthy opponent to Auj. To kick of its music journey, the troupe took home Rs2.5 million and an album contract.

During the episode, after fans voted to make their favorite band the champions, the finalists stepped foot in the battlefield one last time to entertain the crowd on the grand blue stage. The episode also featured the families of the finalists, who recounted their childhood anecdotes.

Aarish traced through its whole journey going back to Pepsi Battle of the Bands season two and performed for the last time for this season on the stage. Their original Pukaar earned them their last standing ovation of the season and Aarish went out with a bang.

Next up, was Auj. The band performed its original Aansu as the last of this season, which again garnered a standing ovation. Then it was time for what we have been waiting for the last two months: the results.

The hosts called onstage the marketing director of Pepsi Saad Munawar to award the trophy to the winner. With Auj being crowned the Pepsi Battle of the Bands season four winner, it joins a prestigious lineup of previous crown-bearers, Aaroh, Kashmir and Bayaan.

Here’s to Auj, Aarish, and most importantly the rise of original music in the country!
