LAHORE: A Chinese delegation has expressed interest in introducing modern technology by forming joint ventures in Pakistan’s textile industry.

In a meeting with Pakistan-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) officials, Yantai Zhonglian Industry CEO Jiang Xuelian discussed prospects of collaboration with Pakistan’s textile units.

Jiang informed PCJCCI executives that her company was engaged in designing, manufacturing, domestic sales and exports. It also has its own brand Yesnow. “We want to introduce innovative contemporary technology of Europe in Pakistan,” she said. “Our company has established global operations and has rights to export products to North America, Europe, Australia, Canada and other countries.”

In the meeting, PCJCCI executive committee members Dawood Ahmad and Farooq Ali Khan Sherwani said China had provided incredible support to Pakistan at all times.

“The constant assistance from China will do wonders in achieving the emerging economy status for Pakistan and these business-to-business (B2B) meetings will certainly have a positive impact on the business community,” they said.

PCJCCI Secretary General Salahuddin Hanif said such B2B meetings would help develop smooth bilateral trade relations between Pakistan and China. “These sessions will open new vistas of opportunities for Pakistani investors and their Chinese counterparts,” he stressed.

Hanif added that cooperation with the Chinese business community was essential for increasing the quantum of trade and investment in Pakistan. Representatives of various textile companies of Pakistan took active part in the B2B discussion.
