Brick kilns issued warnings
Operation will be launched against smoke emitting brick kilns within the next few days

The Environment Protection Department (EPD) has issued a warning to brick kilns which have failed to convert to zig-zag technology in order to avoid the threat of smog during the winter months. According to the EPD spokesperson, the department has evolved a strategy to combat smog, adding that an operation will be launched against smoke emitting brick kilns within the next few days. All brick kilns and production units using the old technology will be closed between October 1 and December 31.
