Pakistan, Iran agree to dismantle drug networks
Sharing information between the Punjab Police and the Iranian Anti-Narcotics Police was also discussed

Eliminating those workers involved in the international smuggling of drugs is the need of the hour, said Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Arif Nawaz Khan on Wednesday.
He expressed these views while speaking to a delegation of the Iranian police at Central Police Office on Wednesday. He stated that a well-connected and coordinated sharing of information should be ensured in this regard. This will help in boosting the process of breaking the supply chain and network of drug pushers, he said.
Law Enforcement and Anti-Narcotics Lieutenant General Umaid Sarwari and other senior officers of the Iranian police were among the delegation. The IGP stated that eliminating drug peddlers was the Punjab police’s top priority. He maintained that joint operations were being conducted by the Punjab police and the Anti-Narcotics Force across different districts in the province.
During the meeting, in order to take action against drug smugglers, it was agreed to share information between the Punjab Police and the Iranian Anti-Narcotics Police while matters of mutual interest were also discussed. The IGP appointed Additional IG Operations Inaam Ghani as the focal person for maintaining close coordination with the Iranian Anti-Narcotics Police.
