Govt prepares for dengue outbreak
The focal persons appointed by the department for the anti-dengue campaign in Punjab also attend the training session

Offices concerned should be given full support in connection with the anti-dengue campaign, said Assistant Entomologist Amir Habib. He was speaking at a special training session organised by Dengue Control Cell of the Health Department on Monday. The focal persons appointed by the department for the anti-dengue campaign in Punjab also attended the training session. In this session the entomologist of the District Health Office gave a detailed training lecture to focal persons on the identification, growing stages and methods of controlling dengue larvae. He provided participants with the information of dengue virus serotypes (dengue one, dengue two, dengue three and dengue four), dengue fever symptoms, dengue mosquito hotspots, dengue prevention environmental protection against dengue means eliminating all sources of standing water and maintain a dry environment, indoor and outdoor vector surveillance, mechanical and biological and chemical control of dengue. He instructed the focal persons that information provided for dengue control in the training session should be made public at all relevant offices. “The complete elimination of the sources which cause dengue’s growth must be ensured by promoting a clean and dry environment at all levels of the government offices as well as every house in our society.“
