A day after a minor boy, accused of stealing, was beaten to death by residents in Bahadurabad, many came out demanding that the perpetrators be tried under the terror law.

The incident occurred on Saturday when according to police, two suspected teenage robbers attempted to enter a bungalow near Kokan Ground in Bahadurabad. A security guard caught 17-year-old Rehan while the other suspected robber managed to escape.

What happened next was captured in a video that circulated widely on social media. The video shows a young boy, tied to a metal grill, and being beaten with sticks. The boy keeps pleading the perpetrators not to hit him on the head.

Celebrities such as Mahira Khan, Armeena Khan and Veena Malik took to social media and condemned the incident.

Mahira Khan

"Oh my God my heart. How could they do that? How could they kill a boy? Torture him? How did not a single person stop it! We have become so bloody desensitised we freaking record videos calmly while someone is beaten to death!" the Verna actor wrote.

Armeena Khan

"To the poor teen from Baharaduabad who was killed mercilessly on a mere suspicion of burglary (just a suspicion). They tortured him for two hours and did not stop even though there was a call to prayer (azaan) in the background. RIP kid, your crime is that you were born poor," the Janaan star shared.

Saw some of the pictures and they are horrific, to say the least. We are a peace loving country. Authorities should take a look in this case and make sure to set example. So that no such cases happen in the future. How can people be so heartless, it's beyond my imagination," the actor shared.

DSP Gujjar pledged that the police would make the case so strong that the accused would be punished by the court. SHO Khattak said that the statement of the victim’s father had been recorded for the inclusion of terror charges in the case.

A request will be filed in the court for this on Monday, said SHO Khattak, adding that more accused have been identified during interrogation and the police will arrest them overnight.
