Opposition has nothing nice to say about PTI’s performance
PML-N spokesperson says will issue white paper on govt’s one-year performance
ISLAMABAD:
Prominent political leaders on Sunday strongly reacted to the completion of one year of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in government.
Addressing the media, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said, “The incompetent and ineligible PTI government will tell its story of failures in its address. The ‘selected PM’ will break all record of lies.”
PML-N spokesperson rejected the annual performance report of federal government, saying the party will issue a white paper on the government’s performance.
She inquired about their claims regarding returning laundered money to the country, saying the government’s performance was limited to eggs, chickens and goats.
Marriyum said, “One year has gone by since the theft of the people’s vote, but the PM is still on the container. We left the country which had the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, 5.8% growth rate. In one year, there is a tsunami of hunger, inflation and unemployment.”
Firdous urges media to counter India's IOK propaganda
She said the prices of gas and electricity increased 200% and 35%, respectively, inflation rose from 3% to 10.3%, government expenses increased 18% and the interest rate rose to 13.75% from 5.25% in one year.
“Not a single university, hospital or power project has been made in one year. How many students got admission in the much claimed university at the PM house? Where are the projects and loans? If this is austerity, then why so much increase in government expenses? This money should have been spent on health and education sectors.”
She said Imran used to say that if leaders were thieves people would not pay tax; however, there “is a deficit of Rs600 billion in tax collection, rupee weakened to Rs160 against the dollar and inflation is at record-high level”.
“This is the most incapable government. In one year, 1.5 million people lost their jobs, while only the IMF team got jobs and one house at Bani Gala got regularised.”
Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said, “The PTI has done nothing good in this one year that should be remembered. Federation doesn’t allow provinces to do their work.”
Separately, Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq said the people of the country are not satisfied with the one year performance of the government.
“The government’s one year performance is filled with failures. In 365 days of a year, they failed 365 times. The government could not even start work on the promises and commitments made with the people. Where are the 10 million jobs and five million homes? Thousands of homes have been demolished. The prices of gas and petrol have doubled,” said the JI chief.
“The government has failed to fulfil its promises and keeps on taking U-turns. One million people have been rendered jobless in one year.”
