Aisam, Bopanna out of Halle tournament
HALLE, GERMANY:
Pakistan’s top tennis player Aisamal Haq Qureshi and his Indian doubles partner Rohan Bopanna were sent crashing out of the Gerry Weber Open in Halle in the first round yesterday.
Aisam and Bopanna succumbed to a straight set 6-2 7-6 defeat to the German pair of Philip Marx and Slovakian Igor Zelenay.
Bopanna is no longer in the tournament, having exited from the singles event earlier where he lost in the first round and by straight sets 4-6 6-7 to Thiemo De Bakker of the Netherlands.
