Two drown while crossing open nullah

ISLAMABAD: Two youngsters were washed away by the strong currents of a flash flood while crossing a nullah in the federal capital. A video of the incident quickly went viral on various social media platforms. The video showed that the two youngsters were trying to maintain their balance in the gushing waters at the popular recreational spot of Shahdara Valley in Islamabad. The video showed the horrific moment when both lost their grip and were swept away in the flash flood. Both boys belong to Islamabad. People have complained that the relevant authorities had not issued any warnings about floods. However, the district administration had over the weekend had imposed a ban on bathing in the Rawal Dam and other large water bodies owing to storm warnings.
